General Information

Here at Camden Lock Market we believe in making market trade accessible for all. For this reason we keep 10% of our stalls available for new traders on a daily basis. Stalls start from just £15 per day on weekdays and £45 per day at the weekend. All you need to do is fill in our online form, if your application is successful you simply turn up in the morning and we give you a stall. Simple.

How to get a stall

Everyone on the market starts as a casual trader. As casual trader you come and work on a day to day basis – we keep 10% of stalls available everyday. Stalls start from just £15.

The first thing all new traders need to do is fill in our online application form.

If your application is successful you simply turn up at 8.45am on Camden Lock Place, NW1 8AF.

We have a basic priority system. It is not first come, first served. We prioritise people who make or design their stock themselves, unique products, vintage clothes and antiques.

The stalls are all approx 2m across:

The rent for a single stall is £15 Mon-Fri and £45 Sat & Sun.

All you need to bring is:

  1. A tarpaulin (minimum size 2m x  2m)
  2. Market clips … As many as you need to fix the tarpaulin and whatever you need for your display
  3. A table cloth …. whatever material suits. Dimensions 2m x 1m min.
  4. A stall skirt…. This is some material to cover the frontage below the table and sides. This covers up your storage area, and can be used for signage. Dimensions 4.5 m x 0.8 m.
  5. The minimum rent for the day.

These are essential items and without them you might be turned away from trading.

And of course:

– Your stock
– Any decorations / display items
– A chair if you require one
– 3-4 energy saving bayonet light bulbs (in winter)

Please have a look through the various links below for places to buy covers, clips and all the other bits and pieces to help you get your stall up and running.

What we provide:

– The stall frame
– A table – your stall can come with or without a table
– Amazing advice and guidance.

A manager will come to your stall around mid-day and collect the rent from you.

If you have any questions please look at our FAQ‘s or get in contact.

Register with Camden Council

You must contact Camden Council and register yourself as someone selling food. You can download the registration form here.

Food, food, food…

Things work slightly differently with selling food. The first thing you need to do is submit a “food proposal” to the management via our online form. This is basically just a menu, outlining what you intend to sell. We ask for this to stop people selling the same kind of food. If you can include pictures please do.

All food traders start mon-fri only. After an initial trial it is possible to obtain a weekend pitch, if one is available. Food Stalls also start at £15 per day. If you have any more questions at all please give us a call on: 0207 485 7963

Gas and Electrics

Food stalls are restricted to a total of 4500 W, which is about 3 hot plates. You will need to use gas, which you supply yourself, if you need more power than this.

All of our outdoor electrical supplies use 16 amp IP44 plugs. You must have adequate cables of a good quality, of sufficient length (at least 15m) with the correct connections. You must supply your own electrical cables.

On Site Storage

Storage is available to permanent stall holders only. Please feel free to talk to any of the managers to discuss the various options.

Parking is available near by. We can easily direct you there once you are here. It is around £12 per day if you let them know you are a trader at Camden Lock.

Limited free parking is available close by at weekends – please ask a manager to direct you when you are here.
